My Why

Service has always been at the center of who I am.

Throughout every stage of my life and career, I have been committed to serving people.

Whether in law enforcement, as a business owner, or in leadership, my focus has always been on helping others, building relationships, and making a positive impact in the community.

There was a moment in my life that made that purpose even clearer. One night, I was awakened from a dream and heard what I believe was God’s voice speak the word Sheriff. It stayed with me. I took it as a calling to serve in a greater capacity and to step forward in a way that would allow me to make a broader impact.

Becoming Sheriff was not just a career decision. It was an opportunity to answer that call, to protect our communities, and to ensure that every person in Guilford County is treated with fairness, respect, and dignity.

I believe public safety is about more than enforcement. It is about presence, partnership, and accountability. It is about being visible, accessible, and willing to listen. It is about working together to build stronger, safer communities for all people.

As Sheriff, my commitment remains the same. To serve, to protect, and to lead with integrity every day for every person.
